The Sound of the Universe
One syllable. The entire cosmos. How does a single sound contain everything?
Om (AUM) is the primordial sound — the first vibration from which the universe manifested. It represents waking (A), dream (U), deep sleep (M), and the silence beyond — the fourth state of pure consciousness called Turiya. Chanting Om aligns mind, body, and breath with universal rhythm.
AUM maps to creation (Brahma), preservation (Vishnu), and dissolution (Shiva). It is the sonic form of the infinite — beyond time, space, and causation.
The Om chant frequency (~136.1 Hz) matches Earth's rotational frequency around the Sun — called the 'Om frequency' in sound healing.
Om appears in the earliest Vedic texts. The Mandukya Upanishad is entirely dedicated to explaining Om.
Mandukya Upanishad 1.1: 'Om ity etad aksharam idam sarvam' — Om, this syllable, is all this.
Om chanting is used in sound therapy, mindfulness apps, and corporate wellness — bridging ancient vibration science with modern neuroscience.
NASA's recording of the Sun's sound is remarkably similar to the Om chant.
Everything begins and ends with vibration. Align your inner vibration with Om and you align with existence.
